An exciting feature of the show is the King of Craft competition, which sees a King of Craft winner being crowned each year. Companies exhibiting in the Craft Beer & Cider Pavilion can put forward one craft beer or cider for selected VIP visitors to try and vote on during the show and at the end of Day 2 a winner is crowned.

Kind of Craft 2018

Freedom Brewery retained its crown — winning King of Craft at Casual Dining for a second year running.  It took the top spot with its (vegan certified) Freedom Pils – Pilsner Lager.

As in previous years, it was a close-run competition.  Over the last two days at the show, the 2018 judges — including dozens of VIP drinks buyers, press and beer experts — have been sampling their way around the many delights of the Craft Beer & Cider Pavilion.  It’s a tough job…

King of Craft contenders also included:

Black Storm Porter from Black Storm Brewery
Thundering Molly from Celtic Marches Beverages
BlowHorn chai-spiced cider from The Cotswold Cider Company
Blueberries & Apples from Cranes Drink
Freedom Pils from Freedom Brewery
Afro-Vegan SXOLLIE Granny Smith Natural Cider from SXOLLIE Natural Ciders
Mango APA from Home 2.0 Craft Beer
Thistly Cross Cloudy 5.5% Cider from Thistly Cross Cider
